Mai Tai

Blood & Sand Hotel Nacional

Created by Trader Vic (Victor Jules Bergeron) in 1944, in his San Francisco bar & restaurant. The name comes the exclaimation  “mai tai roa aé” (“out of this world, the best”) from Trader Vic’s Tahitian friends when they tasted his new drink.

  • Glass : rocks / tiki
  • Method : shake
  • Ice : crushed
  • Garnish : mint sprig, cherry, lime wedge

 

  1. Add the ingredients to a shaker
  2. Ice up 2/3 of the shaker with cubed ice
  3. Shake vigorously for 7 to 10 seconds
  4. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice
  5. Garnish and serve
